Technical Information
Frequencies
Channel allocation: RB7
Input: 434.775 MHz
Output: 433.175 Mhz
Access
A CTCSS tone of 110.9Hz is required for all access to the repeater
Location
The repeater antennas are located 56m and 61m AGL on the east leg of the 100m BT owned mast at Mendlesham
Locator square: JO02NF
Grid reference: TM 1184 6441
RSGB/RMC zone C
Equipment
The repeater is based on a Motorola Compact commercial grade repeater
Filters
Cavities: 4x Procom with approximately 0.3dB insertion loss and 30dB rejection per cavity
Bandpass: We have a 5MHz bandwidth bandpass filter on the receive port due to the close proximity to many high power transmitters (totalling many megawatts!)
Antennas
Separate transmit and receive antennas, both of which are collinear and mounted such that the mast is used to direct the majority of the signal 80° (east), with vertical polarisation (as is usual for FM)
Morse idents
The repeater uses a custom programme on a PIC 16F628A to generate the morse code required by the license
It transmits callsign and CTCSS information nominally every 15 minutes, with the CTCSS disabled while sending the ident (meaning if you have CTCSS decode in your radio, you don't have to listen to the idents)
